Power cut in Tamil nadu

The tamil nadu government has declared a power cut which will be authenticated by the government. A press release said today that the state will face a power cut everyday here on wards for a minimum of one and a half hours.
The estimated need for the state was 7200 mega watt last year. But the demand increases by 9% every year. This year also the same amount of generated but not to meet the rising demands. Out of the whole production, Chennai city itself consumes about one sixth of the total production. Last year it consumed 1200 mega watt. This year the demand from the city was 1900 mega watt.
The government did not take any action to cope up with the demands and now that it had shown its inability by shutting down the plants and power cuts.
