Great Bindra

It was a day in the reckoning for India Abinav Bindra, business man from chandigarh won the first EEVVEERR Individual Olympic Gold medal for our nation. Previously, likes of Rajyavardhan singh Rathore, Leander Paes, Karnam Malleswari were able to get silver for India in Athens (2004) and Bronze in Atlanta(1996) and Sydney(2000) respectively. The 25 year old Bindra quotes, “I wasn’t thinking of making history” when asked about his medal win and said “It was certainly my day. Anybody could have been lucky”. Abinav made it to the top with 700.5 points

Reigning olympic record setter Zhu Qinan came in second with 699.7 and Hakkinen of Finland contended to bronze with 699.4.
